Why this movie?
Lukas Dhont has created a disturbing yet tender film that captures with rare sensitivity the friendship between two thirteen-year-old boys on the cusp of adolescence.
Beyond its visual beauty, it is the way Dhont questions masculine norms, social pressure, and the growing gap between “being yourself” and “being what others expect you to be” that strikes us so powerfully.
The young actors are simply stunning, achieving incredible authenticity. This is a film that leaves an indelible mark on each of us.
